Flag Cake Pops

Memorial Day/Independence Day/Labor Day brings back memories of my Mom making Flag Cake. To put a twist on a classic, how could I pass up the opportunity to create Flag Cake Pops?  The actual cake pops are made with classic Birthday cake on the inside. They were fun to make and they look stunning!  Happy 4th of July, everyone!

Orange Cake Pops

These were outrageously fun and easy to make!  Take a box of Duncan Hines Orange Supreme cake mix and mix it up with packet of Orange JELL-O.  Follow the instructions as normal and roll them into orange-y cake balls :-)

I made half the batch into Orange Cream pops (with vanilla coating) and half into Dark Chocolate Orange pops (with chocolate coating).

The Orange Cream ones really taste like an Orange Popsicle and the Chocolate Orange ones really taste like one of those chocolate orange candies you get at Christmas!

LOVED making these and they were delish!  :-)

Golden Oreo Crunch Cake Pops

Hi! My friend Amy is visiting my work tomorrow and as a surprise, I made her these Golden Oreo Cake Pops.  These are simple Birthday cake pops, with yellow candy coating, and crushed up Golden Oreos.  Now, I originally wanted to just stick a Mini Golden Oreo on top with some white candy coating drizzle vertically on the cake pop.  However, I could not find Mini Golden Oreos..... I think they are a tough find.

I love the way these turned out - they taste delicious and they kind of turned out looking like buttered popcorn balls, LOL!

Happy Easter!

Hello again! Today I decided to do some cake pops straight outta the book by Bakerella for Easter -- Chickies and Eggs!

I was excited for these!  I have to say, though, these took me about 5 hours to perfect.  Simple cake pops with just candy coating and sprinkles take about 2 hours to do.  But these Easter Chickies and Easter Eggs were very detailed and required many steps.

On the inside of the pops is simple vanilla birthday cake.  They came out gorgeous!  Below are some pics of the cake balls (before they become pops) and the finished product.  You also get a glimpse of my secret weapon -- a miniature cookie dough scoop that helps me produce uniform cake balls.  I don't know what I'd do without it!

Happy Easter everyone!!!

Cherry Cordial Cake Pops

Oh hello again!  I took a short break from cake pops.  I made Funfetti Spring cupcakes last week for a girl at work who was leaving.  She told me she likes my cake pops but LOVES Funfetti cupcakes.  So for her last day, I made those instead.  Didn't take any pics since they were simple cupcakes, but they turned out awesome!

With just one week til Easter, I wanted to get one last recipe in before I do Easter cake pops.  I got the idea from Cherry Cordial Cake pops after the success of the Lime Cake Pops, I wanted to try something similar with Cherry JELL-O.

I used regular white cake mix mixed with 1 small box of Black Cherry JELL-O.  The cherry cake balls were coated with Dark Chocolate candy coating.  The results were mixed... The cake didn't blow me away with the taste of cherry like the Lime cake pops did with lime flavor.

Going Nuts for Coconuts...

I made two kinds of Coconut pops this week!

Both pops are made with white cake crumbled with vanilla frosting and shaved coconut.

The Coconut Cream pops were coated with vanilla candy coating and sprinkled with shaved coconut.

The Almond Joy pops were coated with dark chocolate candy coating and sprinkled with crushed almonds.

Happy 1st Birthday, Julia Elizabeth!

I made these for my niece's first birthday party.  My sister-in-law, Amanda, is a fellow baker and I wanted to impress her :)

These are Birthday cake pops dipped in Pink and Violet candy coating and sprinkled with Confetti Sprinkles I found at Merrymead.

They were a huge hit during the party and there weren't any leftover!

Valentine's Day Cake Pops

As I stated before, Birthday cake flavored pops are my absolute favorite.  I used a simple Vanilla cake recipe and dyed the cake batter pink using about 30 drops of red food coloring.  I then rolled the cake balls and used Red, Pink, Violet and White candy melts.  I sprinkled them all with several varieties of sprinkles and sanding sugars.  I had some help with these cake pops... Thanks Lori and Serena!

GAYke Pops!

It snowed the day I made these. Birthday cake (vanilla cake) pops are my personal fave, so I wanted to make them using all colors of the rainbow :-)

White cake crumbled with vanilla frosting, coated in all 6 colors of candy coating, and sprinkled with nonpareils.  These were DELICIOUS!
