Now, I personally don't "get" Red Velvet. WHAT is Red Velvet? Is it chocolate? Is it red? About how much red dye is in this stuff? Is it turning my insides red???
At any rate, these were made using Red velvet cake, cream cheese frosting, White candy coating and red sanding sugar.
Now, I have to admit, I was a bit nervous to make these. Red Velvet
cake, by definition, is always very greasy. And this is not good
because excess oil/grease tends to seep out thru the candy coating and
create little balls of oil on top of the cake pop. And this can look
ugly. So I did what I always do and reduce the oil in the cake mix
recipe to only 2 tbsp. They turned out delicious and my co-workers sure
did love them!
Just a simple blog about my cake pops... I started making them New Years 2012 and love every minute of it.

S'MORES Cake Pops
These were fun! I made them using Chocolate cake crumbled with chocolate
frosting coated with Dark Chocolate candy coating. Finished with
crushed graham crackers and mini-marshmallows.

Happy 1st Birthday, Julia Elizabeth!
I made these for my niece's first birthday party. My sister-in-law, Amanda, is a fellow baker and I wanted to impress her :)
These are Birthday cake pops dipped in Pink and Violet candy coating and sprinkled with Confetti Sprinkles I found at Merrymead.
They were a huge hit during the party and there weren't any leftover!

Valentine's Day Cake Pops
As I stated before, Birthday cake flavored pops are my absolute favorite. I used a simple Vanilla cake recipe and dyed the cake batter pink using about 30 drops of red food coloring. I then rolled the cake balls and used Red, Pink, Violet and White candy melts. I sprinkled them all with several varieties of sprinkles and sanding sugars. I had some help with these cake pops... Thanks Lori and Serena!

Lemon Cake Pops
I made these on a recommendation from a friend and cubicle neighbor at
work, Ronnie. They were tangy and delicious! I made them using Lemon cake crumbled with Lemon frosting, coated with Yellow & White candy coating. Simple, yet tasty. And Ronnie loved them! She STILL requests I make them each and every week :)
